It is intended for films planned for theatrical release in France and can support projects either before filming or at an advanced stage after filming, depending on the application route.

- Application must be submitted by a production company established in France
- Project must be a co-production between a French company and a company established abroad
- Film is generally directed by a foreign national
- Creative documentaries can apply if filmed material does not exceed 50% of the final edit at pre-filming stage
- Post-filming support is for projects that were not selected at pre-filming stage
- Film must be intended for initial theatrical release in France
